Nationality : South African Flying since : 1992 Hours flown : 1000+ Best distance : 337km Interests : paragliding, kitesurfing, property Main flying : xc + competitions About Nevil : "Focus on the cloud street .. and fly on full speed bar." Ambitions : to fly 500km this season, to break the world distance and declared goal records More about Nevil: Nevil Hulett is one of South Africa's most experienced cross country pilots. He has been in the South African National Paragliding Team for the last 8 years and has flown in many Paragliding World Cup competitions. In 2006 he won the CAT2 Paragliding Champs in Ceara, Brazil with a best flight of 337km. His first cross country flight was during his training, on flight # 12 ... he flew into the Drakensberg and only stopped because his instructor's girlfriend refused to drive any further to retrieve him! Being from a small coastal town he is a master at getting away from low hills in difficult terrain. This gives him an advantage on the more challenging days when his tactical route-finding skills can be tested. No stranger to world record attempts, he previously held the South African distance record, flying 305km from De Aar to Dordrecht 2005. [thanks to www.flygirl.co.za for photos]
